What does a Block Captain do?
These volunteers are contacted in order to notify Rio Vista residents on their block as quickly as possible if and when there is an urgent or emergency situation. Fortunately, Reverse 911, a telephone notification system run by the police, takes care of many, if not most, emergency notifications to residents. In addition, Block Captains may report light outages or missing street signs to the Town DPW or to the Administrative Office to expedite repairs in our neighborhood. More volunteers are always needed and may be useful should a unique situation arise.
Please contact the Administrative Office if you would like to participate.
