LANDSCAPE COMMITTEE

The landscaping season is winding down to a close. However, some things still remain to be done. Fall plantings will be installed at both Rio Vista entrances, the center islands and the Formal Garden. The magnificent Formal Garden has been further enhanced with four cast iron planters that are filled with flowers. Personally involved with all this is the Landscape Committee Chairperson, Bill Compagnone, whose good taste is reflected in the landscaping of the common areas. Bill can often be seen surveying the various areas, checking if more or less watering is needed and even planting flowers. With her hard work, Sheryn Liva has also contributed in a major way to the beauty Rio Vista residents enjoy. The Board of Trustees, lead by Dave D’Anna as President, has been a strong support of all these common grounds beautification efforts. They have also been quite satisfied with the work from both Landscaping Dynamix and Village Green Landscapers. Thank you all for your dedication and involvement!

FINANCE COMMITTEE INFORMATION

The Finance Committee’s purpose is to interface with the Board of Trustees in a financial advisory role. Budget planning, financial statement review, reserve fund planning, investment planning and preservation of capital are among the functions they perform. They meet several times a year, in particular before the Annual Meeting, in order to provide their insights and inputs for the upcoming year’s Budget and other financial matters of importance to the Association.

The committee chairs are Phil Lipper and Dick Ossi. Committee members are John Wolfe, Mark Arduino, Dave Bagatelle, Randy Guthrie and Stephen Laddy. In addition, the Association’s administrator, Myra Dulberger, prepares all financial data and spreadsheets for the Finance Committee, including budget planning, and is actively involved in the meetings . Thank you all for your efforts.

POOL COMMITTEE

Universal Pool Management Company has completed this season at Rio Vista. Association members have been pleased, in general, with the way the pools were managed. Thank you Bonnie Berens for your work keeping things running well at the pool. Call 201-760-1258 if you are interested in serving on the Pool Committee.

Thank you, Teena Grant, for serving on this committee for so many years. You will be missed. Meanwhile, Pat Longo, Collette Caesar and Carol Yakimik continue to serve as the Welcome Committee. Thank you all for continuing the long-standing tradition of contacting new Rio Vista residents and welcoming them to the community. The  Welcome Committee always needs more people to help out. It's a great way to meet new neighbors as well as welcome them to Rio Vista.

WANT SOME TLC???

What is TLC? Ask a Rio Vista resident whose family member had a serious medical condition and received meals at their home from about 30 generous neighbors participating in TLC. TLC prepares meals for those in the community who have had a recent birth, illness, death or catastrophe in their immediate family.

Sue Belluardo continues to organize and lead TLC. She, and all the volunteers who participate in TLC, care and are there when needed. Thank you all!

Contact Sue Belluardo at her email address suebelluardo@gmail.com. Contact Sue if you know of a family in need of some TLC assistance or if you can volunteer to prepare meals, when needed.

SOCIAL COMMITTEE

NEW CHAIR SOUGHT

A Social Committee chair would be a wonderful opportunity, especially for a new resident of Rio Vista, to get to know other new members of the community. Long-time residents might already have established their friendships but new members need to meet each other.

If you would like to get more social activities going in Rio Vista, please call 201-760-1258 to volunteer to head the Social Committee.
